I’ve come to adore the concept of texture in home decor. It’s something I never even thought about before I was a blogger, but usually, when a room really speaks to me. It’s because it’s full of texture – especially raw textures like metal, wood, and concrete. The more I learn about my personal style, the more I find myself putting these natural textures into my home, and this centerpiece is a prime example! I could’ve made a centerpiece with anything, but I decided to use old tin cans, lol.
Here’s what you need for this project:
Tin cans
Black adhesive vinyl
White candlesticks
Moss (similar)
Platinum 6 Machine
Lowercase etched dies
Start by pulling out your lowercase etched dies and setting up the letters for “spring” on some black vinyl. Roll it through the platinum 6 machine, and your letters will be cut out and ready to go.
If you want to see it in action, check out this great video:
[ps – you can see that command centre here!]
Evenly space the letters and stick them onto the tin can.
I had three tiny candlestick holders that fit inside my tin cans – if you don’t have any, a thrift store is a GREAT place to find some! I slid those inside, stuck the candles in, and then covered the top with moss. I promise this whole project was done in only 5 minutes!
You can easily substitute the letters for any occasion – “summer”, “birthday”, “Easter”. I love a versatile DIY. I used this in my most recent Spring tablescape, which I’ll be sharing on the blog tomorrow.

Love the look of the bare cans against the bright green moss - you could totally reuse them for different words/seasons too :)

Cute idea! I just love my die machine. It's so much easier than pulling out the silhouette sometimes. Pinning.
