When I go to the Dollar Store, I always pick up enough items to do several DIYs, and then spend an afternoon getting creative and trying out all of my different ideas. They don't all turn out, but usually I end up with at least a few that I love, and these simple DIY Wood Christmas Ornaments were definitely a win.
Our dollar store always has a few great wooden items and when I found these little wooden ornaments I had to pick them up. I think they are typically intended for kids crafts, but they can quickly and easily be modified to look chic and adult! I also picked up some wooden letters and numbers, and then some wired black jute string.

I also replaced the red ribbon with something that blended into the modern look a little more, and used the black wired jute string that I had picked up at the dollar store. You could paint them if you want to, but I wanted them to be the natural wood so I left them unfinished.
I just love how these look on our Christmas tree!
