“Renovations are fun! It’ll be finished in no time!”, said no one ever. Truth be told, we are kind of having fun renovating our bathroom. My husband and I are doers. When we have something in our heads – we get stuff done. But THIS. Is taking a long time… If you are new to our bathroom renovation, THIS is a good place to start! If you’ve been following along, then you know that I was hoping for a 6 week renovation… yet here we are on week 7. Still plugging away after our baby and toddler go to bed.
Week 1 / Week 2 / Week 3 / Week 4
Week 5 / Week 6 / Week 7 / Week 8
Week 9 / Week 10 (Final Reveal!)
Last week, I shared our newly painted Oak Cabinets! Which was VERY exciting! They have since been covered in dirt and dust, but they still look great!
More exciting news… our gorgeous freestanding tub finally arrived! Even all packaged up it looks beautiful! We are quickly running out of space so a couple of faucets are resting in the tub until we can get it in place, lol. But even all covered in plastic wrap it looks amazing!
The arrival of the tub meant that we could finally get the plumping and drain moved to the correct spot and finish laying floor tile.
My favourite drill and impact are never really more than 5 feet away during any of these renos, lol. Once the drain was done, we finished the floor tiling!
No grout:
Fresh grout (pre-washing):
Our beautiful tub still sits off the to side though, because we have more tiling in store! *cough*walls*cough*.
We also had a couple of very special deliveries this week!
A local blinds company, Sheer Illusions, installed this beautiful Graber shutter – custom built for our space! SO beautiful! The blinds pivot in two different spots so that we can keep the top open to allow light in, and still have the bottom (peeping tom section) closed. We never had that option with our old blinds and I’m loving it already!
The shutter is beautiful, and still lets in SO much light!
Then, we got countertops!
A local company, Mercanti Granite and Quartz delivered the most beautiful quartz countertop! We were super lucky finding them because they were able to cut and deliver our countertops waaay sooner than anyone else.
Just look at that subtle colouring! The perfect hint of brown to tie in my tiles and wood tones! SO excited to see the space come together now.
They do granite, quartz, and marble, but we chose to use quartz because we decided to do something crazy….
A quartz shower bench!
Sorry, the floor isn’t tiled yet… lol. But you can still see that the slab looks amazing!
Stay tuned to find out why we chose a quartz shower bench! I’ll be sharing the juicy shower bench details next week :)

It's coming along so nicely! When we renovated our main bathroom (at the time our only bathroom) it took SO much longer than we anticipated... at least you're nearing the finish line :)
Pretty soon you'll be taking a bath in the new tub!
