Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? I’m in the odd in-betweeny zone, where my kids are too young to understand, and my husband and I are too busy/exhausted to buy candles and cook a fancy dinners. I’m sure I’ll go ALL out for them some years, but this year I’m keeping it mellow. Just a few modern pieces, like this Wooden Arrow Decor! Simple, elegant, and seasonal.
I love the look of wooden arrows! I was searching for a new way to make them look modern, rather than rustic, and I think that this is the solution!
Materials:
Thin wood (I bought 1/64″ thick at the craft store)
Wood frame (mine was from the dollar store)
Platinum 6 Machine
“I Saw the Sign” Steel Rule Die
Midnight Blue Fusion Mineral Paint
Paint brush
Beacon Tacky Glue
Start by cutting a piece of your thin wood, so that it fits the“I Saw the Sign” Steel Rule Die.
Run your wood through thePlatinum 6 Machine once and you’ll have a perfect arrow. To see how the Platinum 6 cuts wood, check out this VIDEO.
The next step is to paint that wooden frame. I used the most beautiful colour of navy I’ve ever seen. It’s called Midnight Blue by Fusion Mineral Paint and it goes on SO easily and beautifully.
Once everything is cut and painted, use a ruler to line up your arrows
Then I used my Beacon Tacky Glue to glue the wood in place – its the perfect glue to spread onto the wood, without spilling out the edges or leaving any strange lumps.
Awww… I LOVE it! This is how I do Valentine’s Day :) With modern arrows and rich colours! LOVE!
