I knew I wanted a dessert for my Canada Day festivities that would be red and white - like our wonderful country's flag. Cherry cheesecake is clearly the best red & white dessert out there!

The recipe takes some preparation because you need to let each of the layers chill and set before you add the next layer. Mine took about 30 minutes of actual prep time, but needed 4 hours to chill in between layers. They will also sit in the fridge nicely overnight if you want to prep them early.

  5. OMG, delicious! I need some right now! I love cherry cheesecake. Care to send me a few spare ones next time you make a batch ;)

    1. I believe the jars are 125 ml. I purchased mine at my local grocery store, but I know you can get them at walmart too! The recipe fills approx. 12 jars :) Hope that helps! Thank you for the questions!

  11. So very easy and looks so cute for an individual dessert. I topped with fresh strawberries and slivers of mint leaves. I bought the 4oz mason jars at walmart, they came in a pack of 12 for around $9. (they look identical to the picture) Here is my one tip... is it was time consuming pressing the graham crackers down due to size of the opening. I tried everything from different spoons to fingers and came up with the bottom of an unused K-Cup. It fit perfectly and saved so much time.

  12. Any tips or comments in regards to freezing a recipe like this to make a bit ahead for an event? Have you tried it?

    1. I honestly haven't tried freezing it! I have left it in the fridge for a couple nights and it was still delicious! If you do freeze it, I would thaw it in the fridge to keep it cool while it thaws. Let me know how it turns out if you try it!

  13. OH MY YUM! I have to make this... Mike is allergic to eggs and this recipe is just perfect and very Canada day appropriate, 2 birds, one cheese cake!

  14. Going to try making this for my grandmothers 90th birthday party! How far in advance can you put the cherry filling on? Morning of? Party is in the afternoon. Thanks!

    1. Yes, you can definitely put it in the morning of! Or the day before even. As long as you let the cream cheese layer set first, which only takes an hour or so in the fridge. Hope everyone loves it! Especially your grandmother!

      1. Perfect, thank you!! :)
And would they be okay stored in a cold cellar prior to serving or should they stay in the fridge?

        1. I would keep it in the fridge because of the dairy products in it but I don't have a cold cellar, lol.

  16. This looks delicious! I'd love to make it for a party. I've seen similar recipes that don't use the condensed milk. But I keep coming back to this one! Just wondering, does the condensed milk add flavor or is it just for texture? :)
