I love the look of this triangular modern boho fall wreath. It is such a beautiful DIY project for the autumn season and perfect for your home decor.
Something happened to my home this year. Somehow, in moving to a new home—a blank slate—I’ve found my decorating style. And that decorating style has weaved it’s way into my DIY style, and that is how the idea for the modern boho fall wreath came into being.
I debated not making a fall wreath this year, despite the fact that fall is my absolute favourite season! But then I remembered my old fall decorations. They just didn’t seem right for my new modern front door and my new moody colour palette. So I made one… lol. And I joined a ton of other talented bloggers who also made one. Check out all of the amazing projects at the bottom of the post!

I wanted a way to bring colour into my fall wreath that wasn’t the traditional orange and yellow. (Because I did that last year and it was gorgeous!) I decided to try my hand at a new shape and a new colour with dowels and spray paint.
What you Need to Make your own Wreath:
1/2″ dowel in 14″ pieces
Hunter Green Spray Paint
Leather Cording
Glue – I recommend PowerTac
Faux feathers
Faux fall greenery
How to Make a Modern Boho Fall Wreath
Start by cutting down your dowel into 3 14″ pieces. Full disclosure: I made mine 12″. I thought it would be big enough, but, in retrospect, I would’ve definitely added a few inches to mine.
You can use a scroll saw or any other saw to cut your three pieces to size.
Use your spray paint to paint the dowels. I used hunter green because I love the deep colours, but any colour would work! It took about three coats to get a rich, deep colour.
Once you have all of your materials gathered, glue the triangle of your wreath together. I ran out of my favourite glue, so I used a glue gun (and burned myself five times!). If you want the best glue recommendations – look right here!
Once your glue dries, add the leather cording by wrapping it around the edges and gluing it in place. Next, glue on the feathers and then the greenery.
I never quite know where a project is going to end up once I start, but I’m loving the boho vibes on this modern wreath. Right now it’s hanging in my hallway, but I might have to make another slightly bigger one for the front door!
