How cute is this little craft station?!? I didn’t have to try that hard to raise a little DIYer – my toddler is already excited to colour pictures at every turn! When I found this vintage jewellery box at a garage sale, I knew just how to transform it! I’m excited to be sharing this trick to help you Organize Craft Supplies in your home.

Look at this before picture?! ^^ Haven’t you seen a million of these sitting around your local thrift store?! Unlike my other furniture projects, this one didn’t require any tools!
Materials:
Vintage Jewellery Box
Little Lamb Fusion Mineral Paint
Little Stork Fusion Mineral Paint
Primer
Putty
Scrapper or putty knife
Sand Paper or sanding block
Paint Sprayer or paint brushes
Wood handes
1/4″ thick plywood
The first (and worst) part of this makeover, was stripping down the piece. Removing all of the old hardware, taking everything apart, and scrapping out the velvet lining. Yuck – strongly dislike this velvet lining! Put a movie (or two!) in while you use a scrapper to scrap the velvet off of the sides and bottoms of the drawer.
Once the velvet is out, you need to use sand paper or a sanding block to get rid of all of the remaining stuck-on velvet fuzz. Try your best, but don’t sweat if you cant get it all – the paint will help you!
If you are using a paint sprayer (which my hubby did just to save time!), set up your tent and lay out all of your pieces.
We started by spraying a primer. Once the primer is dry, all of those little fuzzes that you couldn’t sand off before will be heavy and solid, so you can easily sand them out now!
If you are changing the hardware, you also want to putty and sand all of the hardware holes at this point too.
Now the FUN part! Have you heard of Fusion Mineral Paint?! I used it a few months ago to finish my Industrial Side Table and I LOVED it. My friends, this paint goes on SO smoothly . When they released their Tones for Tots line, and knew I wanted to use that paint on this project!
The Little Stork Fusion Paint was the perfect, delicate shade of purple for a little girls room – did I mention I have two girls?!
My final step was to paint my new wooden handles. I bought these handles at my local hardware store and they had perfect slightly rounded edges already.
This Little Lamb Tones for Tots paint went on exactly how I expected. Perfectly paired with my lavender craft station!
I’m SO happy to have something other than a few dollar store bins to store all of these little craft supplies in. Not to mention something chic and beautiful!
I found little bins to fit exactly in the drawers – goodbye to all of those plastic bags!
Finally, I added quick and easy hooks to hold up our paint palette and scissors in the side doors!
My daughter was thrilled when she saw this arts and crafts station! I don’t think she’s left her room for more than 10 minutes since we had it out!
What do you think of our transformation?!

Hi Lindi. I love recycling already purposed items into other useful household objects. I have 3 jewelry storage chests that will enable me to part with one. Thank you for sharing another money saving storage idea!
