Hello everyone! I am overjoyed to be sharing the details of our baby girl’s first birthday party with you!
When our daughter’s first word was Daisy (the name of one of our family pups) we knew that having a puppy themed first birthday party would be PERFECT! We all know how much I LOVE hosting a party & my mind was immediately spinning with ideas :)
Here is my baby girl on her birthday with the outfit I made her! Crown, shirt and tutu!
I started by sending out these homemade puppy party invitations :)
Now the fun decorations!!
I used my VERY favourite crafting tool, my Cricut Explore Air 2, to set up this Happy Birthday Banner, and I used my Cricut Cuttlebug Machine to add a chevron texture to the banner. I was SO happy with how it turned out!
My husband built this beautiful frame (in no time at all – he’s so talented!). We painted the background with chalkboard paint, and used washi tape to hang one picture of my baby from every month of her life thus far :)
I had to give her highchair a little bit of character too. I added tulle to the front of the chair, using what I had leftover from her birthday tutu.
Then we get to the food! Everyone’s favourite part, lol.
Starting with this beautiful birthday cupcake that was made by Sugar Spoon Cupcakes.
It was GORGEOUS! We added a candle on top and we were good to go!
I tried to incorporate as many “dog” or “puppy” food items as I could. We chose our daughter’s “PAW-ty” favourite fruits and vegetables to share too :)
Now, the gorgeous cupcake above was only for the birthday girl, but we still had some sweet treats for the rest of the guests!
Then I decorated mini cupcakes by adding small chocolate wafers in two different sizes to look like paw prints. I LOVE how these two treats looked beside each other.
We needed to have a couple of things for the kids to do, right? It IS a birthday party after all!
I found all of my daughter’s puppy books and set them out with a few puppy stuffs for the kids to read (or be read to!).
Finally, in lieu of party favors and treat bags, I sent each of my daughters’ friends home with their own puppy, and a personalized puppy collar (tutorial coming soon!!).
Just for fun, here are a couple more pics of my daughter celebrating at her party :)
