Turn clear glass vases from the Dollar Store into beautiful decor! These simple paint and baking soda vases add texture and style.

Is "too many vases" a thing?? I don't think it is... lol. Maybe spending too much on vases! Which is why I got to the dollar store and thrift store when I'm on the hunt for a new vase. I wanted to try my hand at making some paint and baking soda vases, and found the perfect options at the dollar tree!
I had been wanting to try the viral baking soda and paint technique for quite a while. I used the technique on these
Since I was going to be painting glass vases, I used acrylic paint. And of course I used black - if you've been here a while, then you know that I love a punch of black in every room in my home!

Once I had the consistency I wanted, I applied the paint to the clear dollar store vases I had in my stash. I used a foam paintbrush to start with on this project because I didn't want to see any brush marks (like I had with the plate chargers). To get good coverage I did two coats on each vase.

I'm really happy with how they turned out! Since I used black plates on top of the white plate chargers, they help to balance out the overall look of our fall tablescape. A few stems of fall leaves look perfect in them!

I really do love the texture of these vases. The visual impact is so much greater than just the glass dollar store vases alone.

This project was such an easy DIY! Just a little bit of paint and those dollar store vases became beautiful pieces of home decor.
