Minimal Holiday Kitchen & Dining Room Tour

This just might be my favourite post of the year. As a blog reader, and as a blogger, I love a good home tour. And the holiday version?! It’s the best of them all! This time around I’m joining the Canadian Bloggers Home Tour again and I’m sharing my minimal kitchen and dining room tour. Guys…. I really scaled it down this year. I think a lot of us are feeling like less is more these days, and even though these rooms aren’t bursting with decor, I’m definitely still feeling comfy and cozy!

Let’s start in the kitchen! The pictures can do a lot more explaining than I can! But I’ll point out a few of my favourite holiday additions to the space.

That’s the only possible explanation, right?! LOL. My husband gets so annoyed with my asking what he got me each year. I do love the surprise too though!

These little houses just may be my favourite part of my entire home tour! I made a few of them to put in these rooms and I love the minimalist nature of them.

I’m working on being more authentic with my tours, so I kept everything that I needed in my counter basket. I didn’t stage it with pretty florals or take out the tacky box that I needed the next day. This is my life – mail basket and all.

Our coffee station just got a tiny addition of a tree I’ve had around forever, and a tiny candle. Both don’t get in the way of making coffee, so my husband doesn’t get annoyed with me, lol.

A branch of pine in the windowsill is all that was needed. The other side got a couple more of my favourite miniature wooden houses.

These tiny shelves are some of the only ones that I have to decorate. Although I didn’t go crazy my any means, I love the subtle wintery additions.

The most excessive thing I did this year was set up two Christmas trees. I put one in the living room and one in the dining room. I couldn’t stop myself. I LOVE the glow of the trees. And they provide the perfect backdrop for beautiful photos.

Once again the kitchen aid stayed out for our holiday home tour – we just use her too often to put her away! But she got some faux greenery too.

And then we move to the dining room portion of our kitchen and dining room tour. I rarely share how these two rooms are connected, so here’s a sneak peek!

The dining room tour decor is the simplest of them all!

A shallow bowl filled with ornaments and pinecones is everything. Looks beautiful, but is easy to move and rearrange when the kids want to paint more snowflakes or write letters to Santa.

The buffet always gets a few bits and bobs too.

And there’s one more shot with the Christmas tree – because it’s just too pretty to ignore!
