DIY Modern Baby Onesies [with Cricut’s new patterned iron on vinyl!]

These adorable DIY baby onesies were make with cricut's new patterned vinyl! Check out these super cute designs

We’re expecting our third little bundle of joy in less than two months! This is our third baby, so naturally we’re a little more relaxed this time around. We still need to get out the old newborn boxes, pack a hospital bag, buy a carseat…. lol. Ok, maybe we’re a little too relaxed. But if nothing else, this baby is going to be well dressed! I made some quick and easy DIY baby onesies and I LOVE them! I’m already dreaming up more great designs :)

Cricut's new patterned vinyl iron on sheets are perfect for this DIY baby onesie project - there are SO many designs to choose from!

As soon as I saw the new collection of Cricut patterned iron on vinyl, I knew I was going to buy this black and white set. How beautiful are these patterns? All three of these 12″ x 17″ sheets come in one sampler pack together. My head was swimming with ideas!

You all know I’m a fan of black and white, lol. But there are also nine other packs of patterned iron on available with a ton of different designs, from watercolours to florals, in just about every colour. They are sooo pretty!

Imagine the character you can add to projects now? Not only solid colours of vinyl, but patterned vinyl for your text, or in patches on clothes, or on images on totes, or on themed pillows! Seriously. Head swimming with ideas. But back to my DIY baby onesies…

I used my Cricut Maker for this project, but any Cricut machine will work just as well!

I used my Cricut Machine for this project, but any of the Cricut machines will work.

Here’s everything you need to make your Baby Onesies:

Cricut Machine
Cricut Patterned Iron On Vinyl
Cricut Iron On Vinyl
Cricut Cutting Mat
3 Pack of Onesies
EasyPress Mat

The Cruicut EasyPress made is super easy to press the iron on vinyl patterns onto the baby onesies

I used the EasyPress to press the Cricut iron on vinyl onto my baby onesies. It just gives perfect even heat and makes my life easier. I didn’t show the EasyPress mat here, but I would definitely recommend using that as well – my towel didn’t quite cut it here…

Wouldn’t these be the cutest gifts? I really should make a few extra baby onesies for my friends having little ones!

This milk connoisseur DIY baby onesie was created with a Cricut iron on vinyl pattern
These adorable leaves and arrow patterns from Cricut give this DIY baby onesie a hip and modern look so your baby will be dressed in style

This onesie I made double sided, by applying the Cricut iron on vinyl to one side, and then flipping the onesie over and applying it to the other side right after. Then I waited for the entire piece to cool before I peeled off the protective layers from the patterned iron on vinyl. It worked perfectly!

You can apply the iron on patterns to both the front and the back of the onesie to make it a complete design!
